My latest album is a concept record about the city where I was born and raised in: New York. I wanted to write some songs that showed the New York I know and love, that took this ideal of "greatest city in the world" and made it personal. I also wanted to push past the stereotype of dirty subway cars and angry pedestrians. There's a side of the city you can only know by living your whole life here. During the writing process for this record, I found myself up late nights online, poring through images of old New York. It was easy to get lost in all the pictures of the city. It’s such an iconic place that every snapshot taken in it feels important. I decided to start this blog so I had somewhere to put my favorite glimpses into New York’s past.
